Day 5 Pro and Celebrity PR

  • how the placement has further inspired them to study the subject
  • what the placement has taught them about the subject that they have applied to study (this could be specific knowledge or more general insight)
  • how the placement has helped to demonstrate in practice what they have learnt previously (or alternatively how the placement has made them question what has previously been learnt!)
  • how the placement has further inspired them to seek a long-term career within the subject
  • how their abilities or previous experience fit with the demands of a career related to the subject.

Today I met with Noomi who looks after the public relations with professional players and celebrities sponsors and support.

Noomi helps the players and celebrities with their social media and travel. The first task I was set was to see what the difference between facebook likes/twitter follows and instagram follows from players pages in july 2015 to now.

She then spoke about liaising with client agents about campaigns and promotion. There are people all over the world and can be hard to get everyone in the same place at the same time.

There is an online poker tournament called 'Red Spade' where  players get a chance to play against their favourite pros and celebs. As part of this department it is their job to look after everyone.

For live events make sure celebs have travel arrangements, flights and Interviews.
